better than expected

When I ordered this headlamp, I expected to receive a heavy piece of equipment that would either flop around or be painfully tight. I was pleasantly surprised to find it's light, comfortable, stable, and very (blindingly) bright. The beam adjustment works much better than expected, too. The only problem is that I can't get the multiposition switch to work. You're supposed to be able to depress it halfway to use a lower intensity or stobe mode. I can only get it depressed all the way. For the price, it's still worth it, though.

surprisingly good

A very good value. I've used one (not the "ladies model" though) for over a year. The switch just went bad 2 days ago. This is 6 nights a week doing tunnel construction related electrician work. I cut the elastic strap off after a while and put on Velcro to my hard-hat(s). It has a far better switch than most of the competition. I'll buy a few more before the model gets "improved" or discontinued, like other flashlights or electronics.
