Read More I bought this evac sack on the day of a cycle, camp, and hike adventure. It works as described, and is well worth the money. The 35L evac sack kept two sleeping bags secured on a bike rack, to and from camp.(see picture) The lime green sack is REI's brand. Both sacks are a great choice. My only challenge was how to throw my leg over the bike. It is a great help when the quality of your gear is top notch. You spend less time repairing or replacing, and more time experiencing the great outdoors! (see pictures 2 & 3) -

Read More I have a few of these, that I use for keeping my sleeping bag dry, and for my clothes. While they're great for initial compression (like, when I'm putting my sleeping bag into my sleeping bag compartment), overtime, air will slowly seep back in. This happens with all 3 of the eVACs that I own, no matter how many times I roll the top. That being said, I have yet to find anything better. These bags have reliably kept my gear dry, in rainy conditions. I have not yet completely submerged them, so I haven't given them the "what if I fall in a river while crossing it" test. If you're chances of total submersion are that high, you should consider a heftier bag, like the Sea to Summit Big River. Otherwise, this lightweight bag is great for initially compressing gear that is kept inside your pack. -
Oct 30, 2013Dry Sack does its jobI used it on a recent rim to rim to rim hike of the Grand Canyon. Rain wasn't a problem, but the dry sack did a good job of keeping the dust off of my extra clothing.

Oct 27, 2013Great Dry SackI really like the bag, it compresses easily and will carry more than you will ever need for even a 2 night backpack trip.

Read More I cant speak to durability as I have only used it once on a week long trip walking in the Scottish Mountains. The primary positive for me was the fact that the bag breathes so that when you are closing it up you dont have to push out all the air before you roll the top shut. It does it for you as you close it up.
Read More I've had many dry sacks over the decades, but never one that vented the excess air out! until now. I got the 20L one to keep my Marmot Col Membrain -20F (a BIG 800 fill bag) dry during winter backpacking trips, and it fits perfectly. However, the air, as other reviewers have mentioned, DOES quickly leak back in ... but that is not a problem if u know the trick. What i do is cram the bag into the sac, fold and lock the top, sit or keel on it to get the air out (which makes it look vacuum-packed), then quickly stuff it into the sleeping bag compartment of my pack. Then it simply fills any excess space around it until it stops "inflating". Then i have found that i can easily cram in LOTS of clothing around all of the sides of it, because as i force the clothes into place more air simply leaks out to allow room, then it all just stays there nice and snug; brilliant product! I love this thing! I also have used it for recumbent tricycle touring on top of my back rack. While touring i carry a Marmot Lithium Membrain 0F 850 fill bag, and there is still enough room left over to stash my Marmot Hang-Time down jacked w/ hood (a good sized 1lb 6oz coat). I've been through a few light, misty rains, which kept everything dry, but i have yet to test it in a downpour. I've only used it on two short three-day tours, but if i were going to do a longer trike tour i would definitely get a dry bag w/ a more robust exterior, as the material seems like it could stag and tear easily if not treated gently. IMHO it's best use is inside of a pack where it performs w/ 5 stars. Also, it's so light u won't even know u are carrying it!
