Nicer than the picture led me to expect!
I ordered this as a bit of a gamble - from the picture I expected a more dense, rigid and bulky fabric like the REI One jacket or another shirt I have from Sporthill that is warm but looks chunky on me. I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived- it's a kind of waffle weave with oval holes built into the fabric- larger on the outside and smaller on the inside so it wicks well and is more form-fitting than I'd hoped. Think of a heavier jersey knit that keeps its shape. I think the website photo doesn't do it justice. The hood is generous and I like the contrast color, though I'd prefer a more adventurous contrast color than black with the red. I'm an XS and the one thing that often happens when I get XS sizes is that sleeves are too long- not a problem here! I would buy another if they had more colors I liked (not into pastels). The arm pocket is just a hair too small for me, but will carry most of what I use. Sporthill is often on the mark for me, and I found this a good choice.
