Read More Being new to winter hiking, I bought these to help with traction in the snow. They were great for traction and provided stabilization however, were not good when climbing. They kept slipping off my boots. There were great if walking on a flat trail, inclines, not so much. I would recommend only for sidewalks and parking lots that are icy. Not for hiking! -

Read More I bought these when my family and I planned to venture out over half a mile on frozen Lake Michigan to visit some rare ice cave formations. My youngest child had on the "Y" competing brand and managed to slide when he tried but I could not manage it in these. I felt very stable on the ice but did manage to walk right out of them until I really pulled them high over my boots. After we returned home I bought a pair of velcro straps (from the climbing section of REI)for less than $3 and have tromped over thick everyday ice with no problems since. It's almost enough to make me hope for another exceptionally cold winter next year! -

Read More People who say this is a poor product are misusing it. These are perfect for someone who, like myself, doesn't want to slip and fall or hyper-extend ones knee walking around town, to the store or bus stop. You can slip it on and off easily, carry them to work, shovel the walk. Light duty, well priced, very serviceable. -

Read More I walk my little dog several times a day and the icy sidewalks and driveways have presented a real hazard for slip and falls. The tabs on these bite in well and I've not had any falls or near misses. I previously had the Yaktraks, but these bite in better. Also the springs of the Yaktraks wear quickly and break. These seem like they will last a lot longer. -

Read More Recent weather conditions were putting a damper on my hiking. Checked out snow & ice traction devices online then went to store to try out. A good price point, and simple design made decision making easy. Used the other day on a set of trails that were covered with a mix of packed snow and ice. Put them on easily at the trailhead and took off down the path with confidence. I would have expected to have have slipped occasionally, but that never happened. Wearing the STABILicers Lite Traction Devices made a big difference. I would not have been able to finish the hike safely with out them. Recommend trying out first for best fit. Sizing seemed to be a bit small and tight to get on for my shoes(Large to fit my shoe size according to the fit guide). Went with the X-large, which was a much better fit for the different shoes/boots I would use these with. -

Read More I bought these for my family of 4 for our trip to Zion and Grand Canyon Nat'l parks. They were excellent! We hiked by tons of people sliding off the trails. They were light weight and easy to put on and take off when the trails were clear of ice. They allowed us to hike all over the snow and ice covered trails. I plan to use them at home for winter walks in the city.
Read More I've tried several similar traction products and this is the best, and through REI, the cheapest. They grip your boots well, and slip off easily after your walk with one hand. Also they have rubber plugs that cushion your walk on asphalt when the ice is melting.
