Yaktrax Pro
Yaktrax Pro Video
Video: Regain your confidence when walking on packed snow and ice with the updated, simple-to-use Yaktrax Pro traction devices.
- For walkers, runners, hikers and other winter athletes, these strap easily to the bottom of your shoes, reducing the chance of falls
- Abrasion-resistant, hand-wound stainless-steel coils cover the bottom of your shoes to bite into packed snow and ice; increased spacing between coils prevents binding
- Yaktrax Pros offer ten times the gripping points as any spike-based traction device
- Natural rubber is used to hold the devices together, giving them durability and strength
- Removable performance straps cross over insteps to help keep them in place during use
- Updated heel tabs and strands, outer bands and toe bridges work to provide a comfortable, secure fit; impact nubs improve durability in high-wear areas
- Easy to use, even in extreme cold—just hook over your shoe's toe and stretch over the sole

Mar 2, 2016Yaktrax Pro are simply great :)They converted a pair of leather goretex sailing boots into mountain wear. I was blown away by how effective these are.

Feb 20, 2016Great, for one-time use. They don't last. Waste of money. I used a pair for snow shoveling in my driveway, twice--and they fell apart. This is simple homeowner use, not commercial use!

Read More When unbroken these are the greatest traction devices in my opinion. You dont feel them on your feet, they work good in mixed ice/dirt/snow conditions. I think the coil traction system works better than the Yaktrax RUN "track spike-like" design on slippery surfaces. The downside is they do break easily if jogging in them. These things should be half the price given the amount of uses one gets before breakage. -

Read More I have a very steep driveway. The only way to walk on it in snow is some sort of extra traction device like these. I had sure footing for about two hours of clearing 8" of snow. When I got inside and took off my boots, I notice the toes had slipped over the top of my shoe...so all of my traction was essentially on the heel and arch. Ok, I didn't slip and fall, but it would be nice if they stayed in place. The bummer is one of the rubber ligaments from the base of the pinky toe to the center of the arch broke. These were brand new. I'm going to get a replacement. I hope they hold on the rest of the weekend - I'm in Northern Virginia and we have about 16" more inches of snow to fall today! -

Read More This product really works. My wife and I were hiking on snow packed into solid ice by other hikers. We could quickly hike up and down grades when others with regular hiking boots were literally falling down. That said, I can only rate two stars because one of my wife's rubber straps broke near the end of our FIRST hike with them (only 3-4 miles). I've still got mine, but we returned hers and bought the 9.99 ones at Costco (ironically enough they are also manufactured by Yak-Trax). They seem to work almost as well. -

Read More I personally did not like the Yaktrax Pro, for a few reasons...for hikes they helped on "some" slippery conditions but didn't grip much on ice. One thing I really didn't like was the toe part would roll off the shoe if you were to use it trying to grip and push yourself up over a rock. These may be good on just a walk down a flat trail but nothing with any kind of pitch to it. -
Jan 16, 2016nice cleatsThese aren't the most pricey pair of Ice cleats but they do a great job and aren't that bad on the pocket book
Read More So far so good. Bought these 2/9/16 and have done several hikes where these came in handy. Easy to put on, easy to store (nothing to catch or rip your bag) you can definitely tell the difference in mobility after you put these on. I have fallen once but it was on a steep slope that was extremely icy. Two of us "had accidents" on that slope, we were both wearing Yaktrax: however; none of the other hikers who were wearing the heavier duty traction control devises fell. After only a month of wear these are already showing quite a bit of wear on the bottoms and I try to take care of my stuff. I am careful where I walk in these, no rocks or roads if avoidable. I have friends who have had their Yaktrax for more than a year and they still work fine.
