Admittedly, I primarily bought them for two reasons. 1. they are SmartWool and I love the SmartWool guarantee - basically returnable for ANY reason. 2. In addition to the performance benefits of merino, they look cool. My wife wears these under her casual boots, hiking, to work and just around the house instead of slippers. You'd think that the wear doled out to socks by continually going sans-shoes would be an issue, but thy've lasted so well (guess that's why SmartWool is comfortable with their guarantee).

    Read More     I practically live in sandals so when I saw the colors I bought three pairs. Forget about wearing these with sandals because they don't hold up to sports sandal straps. These and another style from SmartWool wore out very quickly. At least this one didn't get holes from being washed in a washer on low speed like the other style did. I will never buy "Smart"Wool again.

The Smartwool Jovian & Smartwool Reflections both have that padding just under the foot, but thin around the rest of the ankle area. Those worked out better for me.

Each pair has worn completely through in the heal and at the balls of my feet. I have been very disappointed in this particular style. I will still continue to invest in SmartWool socks, just never again this style.

    Read More     These are my favorite socks, I wear them to work mostly, during spring fall and winter, and use thicker socks when I'm going to be outside during cold weather. My first pair I've had for several years and they have no holes. I especially like that I could buy Large for my size 10 feet. Confession- they don't retain smells or moisture so I often wear them 2 or 3 times before washing.
