Read More Was sold these by a sales person at REI after explaining and showing my flat feet. 6 miles into my first 13 mile hike and I felt like my feet were going to split in half. Despite heading up Table Mountain, which I've done multiple times, sadly I had a far more difficult and disappointing journey than all previous treks up. The inserts had very little flex in my already broken in Slalom Quest 4D 2 GTX boots, the problem was that the hard ridge landed just under the ball of my foot and eventually had both feet feeling like they were going to split in half. When I reached the top of the mountain, I took the boots off, changed socks (liner/light weight merino wool) to see if that would help. Nope. Ended up doing the same hike a week later, minus the Superfeet, and had a much more pleasant hike with my original insoles. This product may work for some, but if you have wide and flat feet, I suggest easier treks to try and get adjusted to them. Glad I kept the box and am an REI member so I can return them. -

Read More I use insoles in midweight goretex hiking boots (Scarpa Charmoz). At the end of a long hike with superfeet insoles, I can't wait to get my boots off, but with New Balance supportive cushioning insoles, my feet stay comfortable all day, and I have no thought of taking my boots off. Superfeet see no need to change a thing, but they should, based on the latest insights. -

Read More bought my first pair 2 years ago with my new ghost Brooks running shoes. The first pair I did not like. One time one of the seller at a running store pointed to me the reason is that it is not enough to get my size of insert to match the size of my shoes but had to size the cup of my heal to fit right. I had to buy a larger pair by 2 sizes and trim it to accommodate well my heal. That worked perfect and since it has been my best insert. It is light, flexible and very durable. I used to put before expensive custom made orthotics. I tried different other commercial inserts which may have been good for walking or hiking but not for running. The superfeet orange so far was the best it is well balanced and flexible and is my best for running but can be great for anything even standing. I use it only for running it allowed me to extend the usage of my older running shoes without feeling the difference in my feet. I am ordering my third pair today specially that they are on sale. After more than a year of long running my first pair separated in the front. I was able to glue it and keep using it. I don't like to switch inserts between shoes I would rather have one permanent for each shoe. When I bought my second pair from REI in Richmond, VA, the seller was kind enough as courtesy to trim my inserts to fit exactly my shoes. -

Read More The first time I used these I spent too much time in them immediately and developed plantar fasciitis. I removed the insoles but it too more than a month to recover. I gave them another try and am having better luck. BUT, it appears that the problems may be related to one foot being enough different form the other that I've had to tweak the fit. My left arch is different enough from the right that I need to use a thinner hiking sock (REI thin hiker) and a Green insole in my left boot to get the same fit as with the Orange insole and an REI medium hiker in my right boot. And I still have some arch pain in my left foot as if the insole support is too far back. At least one other reviewer said the same thing. I'm going to order some lower volume Superfeet to see if that solves the problem. In addition to my changing feet, I think the shoe maker (Merrill) has changed the lasts slightly as I've worn their boots for 15 years and it's only in the last couple that I've found they don't fit the same. -

Read More I've heard so much about these I bought them for my Zamberlan Vioz GT boots. Initial feel was very stiff heel cup with little arch support, and what little there was was placed too far rearward. After a couple of dozen miles, heel cup started to break in, but never felt very supportive. If your looking to offset some of these shortfalls, check out the Sof Sole insoles also at REI; they have worked out very well. -

Read More The last time I bought Superfeet was a few years ago when I bought a pair of green Superfeet. Those are also a great product. I found that I really like the extra rubbery cushioning in the forefoot of these orange Superfeet since I've had issues with the base of my right big toe getting really sore with long walks. -

Read More look at the picture where there is a black line between the front foam and the hard plastic rear support. This insole has been used for less than a month and it is extremely painful to wear. What a waste of money. the rep convinced me to use these with a different size keen shoe instead of returning them completely. I spent more money and am in about $200 for shoes and it these cause me pain every time i wear them save your money and find something else.
