Our first ride was 20 miles, and he did complain that his bum hurt (mind you, it was his first ride over 2 blocks in length). His second ride (28 miles) he had no complaints. We also got him the boys Novara Kicker Road Bike Shorts. -

Read More We bought these for our sons who ride 12" and 14" bikes. They are exactly what we needed to make sure their bums were comfortable while taking on miles of bumpy sidewalks and bike paths. Well made and make a big difference since most kids' seats are very hard. Unfortunately, the picture here doesn't show how these attach, so take a moment to look at your kid's current seat to see if this is compatible. If your kid's seat has a pole that's attached to two metal loops beneath the seat (rather than the seat itself), you're good. Otherwise, you may need to purchase a component to attach the pole to this seat. -

Read More I bought this saddle for my 7-year old son to replace the cheap seat that came on his BMX-style 16" bike after he complained of pain from riding even a short time. He reports that the seat works great, he has not complained of any discomfort even on rides of up to five miles, and he has asked to have it put on his new K2 Zed 20 mountain bike that we just ordered from [...]. I noticed that the seat's lycra cover absorbed a good deal of water when we rinsed off his bike, but squeezing it with a dry towel dried it surprisingly quickly. At only [$] dollars, this seat is a great bargain and seems to be effective. Don't hesitate to give it a try.
Read More One of the first things I do after getting a bike for my kids is switch the seat to this Serfas kids seat. All the other seats we used cause them to have pain and soreness after a short ride but this one is very comfortable without any ill side effects. My kids really like it and they enjoy biking more after getting this upgrade. Furthermore, they can ride much longer because of the gel comfort. I have tried many adult bike seats and the adult version is the only one my wife and I use.
