Waterproof fun times the square of 25
I got this tasty sucker on the clearance rack and boy-o-boy am I glad. The first thing I did when I got home was put it on and stand in the shower with the wa-wa on "downpour". Needless to say, or in this case type, it didn't leak a drop. I often wear this gem for winter walks over a fleece sweatshirt and T-shirt and find that it blocks the wind making it unnessesary to really pile on the clothes. The zipper can be stubborn on occasion though, Overall,I's say it's a pretty good bargain. Me likes!
Fantastic in so many conditions
I own both this jacket and REI's earlier generation model. Both have been around the world and back and work wonders. This one especially is lightweight, wind- and water-proof and versatile. I've never had a problem with ripping or leaking. In really humid weather (India in April) I needed to take it off. A fantastic buy, especially at a sale price.
excellent rain/wind protection
got this to replace a Sierra Designs with a broken drawstring... on sale this actually cost me less! Comparing the two, this feels like a much higher quality jacket. Especially in warm weather with a short sleeve shirt on below... it is NOT clammy, like the SD jacket. The music player pocket on fron is a nice touch too.
Great Shell
This jacket is great when things just get wet. I have no problem wearing it when it's warm out, just unzip the pits and let the jacket breath. It's pretty lightweight and it's no problem to take where ever I go. Whether it's campus or camping/hiking for a couple days.
Great wind and water protection
So far no problems. As with all shells of this type good protection agains rain. However, of more importance is the fact that the zippers still work. Alough they don't work very smoothly. We see how it performs as it ages.
Perfect fit
Excellent outer layer. Replaced previous Switchback with this newer model and like the improvements.
