I run half marathons, and wear a running shoe that is a half size bigger than my street shoe; however, i still got black and red bruised toenails on both my feet. i also sometimes get cuts on one of toes from the toenail next to it digging in to the other toe. these toe caps took care of all that! they look big, like they would only fit your big toe, but they actually fit nicely on my other toes. since the silicone is a little sticky, they stay in place very well. they don't feel much different than a band-aid on your feet. i did some short runs (3-6 miles) to test the toe caps before my half marathon this morning, and i did not have cuts, sore toenails or additional brusiing. and they performed just as well on my half! i ended the run without any sore toenails, no cuts, no blsiters (sometimes bandaids gave me blisters on my toes). i will use toe caps until i buy my next pair of shoes (in 1 full larger size). -

Read More I have a toe on my left foot that must be a bit longer than the others because I constantly seem to get a blister at the tip of it and almost always eventually lose the nail. This is my 3rd year doing the SGK 3-Day for the Cure (60 miles over 3 days). I have tried everything to pamper that toe & have had some success. But I saw the toe caps at REI & I was curious whether they would work. So far they are working GREAT. I like that I can quickly slip one on over that problem toe, rather than spending several minutes bandaging. I also like that I can take it off & re-use it - the cap not the toe :-). Although I did not like the initial cost, it seems to be worth the price. Just be sure to remove the toe cap as soon as you are done hiking/walking etc. Not something to be left on when not needed. -

My buddy used one since he had a blister forming before the hike even started because he had new boots. He said it worked great and even re-used the one for the next days hike. I used 3 as 3 of my toes started to get painful from my foot sliding forward in my boot and it also worked great. No blister, nothing. They stay on all day and protect any toe that might be forming a blister or already have a blister. I won't hike without these. I just wish they weren't so expensive.

Read More Bought these to try out for some blister relief on my big toes, used them out last weekend on a backpacking trip and both of them tore wide open somewhere in the first leg (~11 miles). I'd expect a little more durability for the price.
