Read More I finally wore out one of my two pairs of Chaco Z/2 sandals. After several desert backpacking trips, too many trips to the top of Guadalupe Peak to count, numerous day hikes, and my morning workout for maybe eight months out of the year, the right footbed cracked. I sent them to Chaco for a resole and they sent me a new pair of sandals because of the footbed, which was covered under a lifetime warranty. I love the fit and durability of Chacos and I think that the toe loop on the Z/2s adds the necessary security that allows me to use these for hiking on uneven terrain. I love my Chaco Z/2s. -

Read More I just bought a new pair of Chacos after my last pair finally wore out. My last pair lasted me eight years with a LOT of wear. I like the new sole, its a good medium between the two former design choices. The sandals are just a little heavy but that is surly due to their indestructible construction. A little expensive too but they will last you a long time and give you great performance. The best sandal on the market in my opinion. -

Read More Welp, I find myself writing this review because I have buy a new pair. I wear sandals almost as much as I wear shoes, this includes winter time and time at the office, and I have had to replace my shoes once a year over the last 4 years and this will be the first time I have had to replace my sandals. These sandals are not only comfortable but they are indestructible. they are worth the money as you feet will love them for a long time. Also take note that if you are not to hung up on color you can usually get these sandals for at least 50% off in the winter time, so plan ahead! That being said I would still buy them again even if I had to pay full price because they are beyond compare. From work, to relaxing on the beech, to climbing blood mountain; these sandals will not fail you! -

Read More Bought these about a month ago and I love them. I've taken them on a couple of hikes and short backpacks, as well as wearing them day to day, and they're great sandals. The strapping is a godsend, they are infinitely better than traditional velcro three strap configuration, and you can set them up loose for lounging around camp or tighten them down for great support while hiking. Also, if you're on the fence about toe loop or no toe loop, get the toe loop. You can pull the toe loop flat and wear them like Z1's and the toe loops is essential for hiking, IMO. The foot bed is the most supportive of any shoe I own and are super comfortable. People who complain about them big bulky and stiff don't understand what these are for. You can hike in these sandals! They are supportive over long distances and have great traction over rough terrain. In addition, the height of the foot bed helps keep every tiny piece of debris you walk over from ending up in the sandal. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that sizing with Chacos is strange. I wear an 8 1/2 or a 9 in most shoes, a 9 in my hiking boots. I originally bought the size 8 and hiked in them, and they were too big, and I exchanged them for a 7. My foot now fits the contours of the sandal perfectly, and don't leave an awkward amount of shoe sticking off the front and back. So make sure you try on a few different sizes and find the one that really fits you the best, even if the size seems weird and smaller than anything you would normally buy. A note on price, they seem pricey, but Chaco will replace the strapping and the sole for a very reasonable price, meaning that one pair will last you longer than any other shoe you own. -

Read More I bought these for my 19 year old son's birthday in the blue. It wasn't his first pick in strap design but they look great on him and he is very happy with them. He loves them and wears them all the time. He is a size 11.5 but got the size 12. It fits good. The only problem is there is quite a bit of excess strap that drags the ground. He doesn't care, but it would drive me crazy. I've been wondering if he should have gotten an 11 instead. -

Read More My husband bought these about one month ago. He loves them! At first he was a little hesitant because he has always worn "not between the toes" sandals. He was afraid that the toe thing would bother him. It does not! He even went back to REI last night and bought the "toed" socks so he can wear them well into the fall and maybe winter season. He is very happy. He says the sandals are very comfortable and true to size.
Read More I bought my first pair of these several years ago, and I've decided I never want another sandal. I wear them everyday, and even then they last for years. They hold up to rigorous conditions, whether it be hiking down basalt scree on the Lava Falls Route in Grand Canyon, whitewater rafting through Cataract Canyon, or trail running on your favorite single track. It's challenging to find a shoe that fits properly, but Chaco has perfected this with their sandal. The straps adjust to your feet for a custom fit and feel secure even when tackling third class routes. On top of that the soles provide sturdy and comfortable support. I have high arches and these are wonderful. I've worn mine on multi-day backpacking trips in rugged and remote terrain, and was always confident with my footing while wearing these. I recommend them to anybody looking for solid and reliable footwear that will take you wherever you want to go. The only downside to these sandals is their weight, but trust me, their trusty performance greatly outweighs their bulk.
