Read More I bought these as a replacement for the original laces in my Vasque hiking boots. Sadly, these did not last nearly as long. They are made of a thin decorative cover woven around a white nylon core. The metal loops on my boots quickly wear through the cover which then shrinks in length leaving a length of exposed white core. The lace then won't slide through the eyelets anymore. Replacing them requires the use of a knife or scissors. Unfortunately, REI doesn't sell a round lace like the original that was a one piece construction. -

I even watched the TED talk on how to properly tie a shoe before I replaced the originals. These however require no special attention, they just tie and stay that way. -
Dec 12, 2013They work wellUsed as replacements on a pair of lowa renegade gtx mids and so far they're holding up great. Very similar to the originals. The grey color matches fiarly well.

Dec 4, 2013Shoe LaceI replaced the laces on my New Balance indoor court shoes...They are always way too long .... these are perfect length...stay tied!! and so on and so forth.
