Read More I use these for winter cycling, and they work pretty well. Snug fit, but I can get a reasonable liner beneath them. Put the two together and I can cycle for hours with nary a hint of numb toes, down to around 35 degrees. Below that, got put on an outer shell for my cycling shoes. -

Read More I needed waterproof socks to run the Antarctica Marathon. I tried on these Seirus Stormsocks socks, as well as the Seirus "Hyperlite" Stormsocks. I wear a size 6 dress shoe and a size 7.5 running shoe. I have a high arch. I tried to put on the size Small Seirus Stormsocks and could not get it over my heel. I tried the Medium size and gave up after a vigorous tug of war. I really wanted these socks to work because they look very durable and are much thicker than the Seirus Hyperlite Stormsocks. The thickness of the Seirus Stormsocks did concern me, as they feel a bit like a scuba diving sock, but I prefer to be warm and dry. I was willing to accept the trade off being a very snug fit, but I couldn't get the socks on. The Hyperlite were much thinner and were much easier to put on, so I bought those instead. They fit nicely in my running shoe with no awkward snug fit when I run. -

Read More A sock that claims to be waterproof ought to keep my feet dry when I stand ankle-deep in a mountain stream. This one doesn't even keep out light rain and road spray. I bought these to keep my feet dry during wet cycle commutes. They don't. Twice now I've ridden in the rain, and twice now my feet have gotten good and wet - and cold! - after less than ten minutes into my thirty minute commute. I can't say whether the water is coming in through the seams, or straight through the fabric, but since I've worn them under good, effective cycling rain pants with Velcro ankle closures, I'm sure the water is not coming in at the tops of the socks. -
Dec 26, 2009Leaked through Seams 1st useIn wet conditions started to "leak" through at seams most likely with in 20 minutes.

Dec 14, 2009Lasted A Mile Before LeakingAfter a mile or so the socks broke down at the seams from the stress of movement along the trail. They were warm when they worked.

Read More I use these socks when running through the snow. I usually wear a liner sock under them to move the sweat away from my feet and then the Stormsocks over the liner to keep my feet from getting wet from the snow. They are high enough that I can run in 4" - 5" of snow and my feet and ankles stay dry. They are thicker than normal socks so you have to loosen your show strings a bit, but for dry feet, I can handle that. -

Read More I use these socks as a single layer, durable, heat containment sock for skiing... they're kind of like wetsuit material but not as thick. I've tried all kinds of ski socks... thin, thick, synthetic, natural, and in single & multiple layers... these socks beat all other types & combinations I've tried.
Read More I really liked these a lot. I used them with sandals, in shallow water (not over the top of the socks) for launching my kayak. Even though they allowed a little moisture to enter, they kept my feet clean. Their sizing on the packaging showed the XL should fit 11.5 - 13 men's sizes. I'm a 13, at the top of that size range, and getting the wet socks off (with my wife helping) was almost impossible. After trying them twice I had to quit using them.
