Read More Bought these for a trip to Utah to use for cayoning/canyoneering. I typically wear a size 10 shoes, and these were a little big. Not sloppy big, but they top of the sock loosened up a good bit in the water and fell down. This allowed for sand and other small debris to get into my boots. A minor detail and nearly unavoidable, but thought I'd mention it. Overall, a great water sock. No hot spots or blisters from rubbing. -

Read More These were a Christmas gift, so I shouldn't be complaining. If you keep these socks dry, then they will work as intended. However, once wet, they are basically useless. They do not have an elasticated cuff, so when you stretch them to put them on, and then they get wet, the cuffs droop, funneling water into your shoes. A DWR treatment may help with performance, but as is these have no water resistance. Once wet, your thermal barrier is lost as these are super thin = cold feet. I would recommend spending the extra $ for a goretex type sock, if you are wanting something with water resistance. -

Read More I've had one pair of these for years, and ordered this new pair recently to have a spare. Sadly, the new pair is smaller than the old pair, though marked as the same size (XL.) I wear these over a pair of merino wool socks in my SPD clip-in biking sandals, which keeps me warm enough to ride down to 30 degrees. Kind of pricey, but highly recommended. I only wish there were an even larger size available so I could get them on more quickly and easily. -

Read More I needed waterproof socks to run the Antarctica Marathon. My friend ran the Antarctica Marathon with these "Hyperlite" Stormsocks and said they protected his feet from the elements. I tried on the Seirus "Hyperlite" Stormsocks, as well as the thicker Seirus Stormsocks. I wear a size 6 dress shoe and a size 7.5 running shoe. I have a high arch. I tried to put on the size Small Seirus Stormsocks and could not get it over my heel. I tried the Medium size and gave up after a vigorous tug of war. The thickness of the Seirus Stormsocks felt a bit like a scuba diving sock. By comparison, the Seirus "Hyperlite" Stormsocks were thinner and were much easier to put on. They fit nicely in my running shoe with no awkward snug fit when I run. They can have the tendency to bunch at the tip if I do not pull them tight over my heels, but I have narrow feet, so that may be a function of my own foot type. I bought the SM/MD Hyperlite Stormsocks over the thicker Stormsocks as they are more conducive to running. -

Read More A few of the reviewers have complained about how difficult it is to put on/take off these socks. While true (and I struggled at first with this issue), I would recommend the following - concurrently purchase some BodyGlide and apply liberally to your feet before putting socks on. After the BodyGlide is applied, the process becomes simple.
Read More I bought these specifically because I needed WATERPROOF socks for cold weather kayaking. They are not even close to being waterproof; the fabric may be slightly water resistant, but the seams leak like sieves. As others mentioned, they have basically no stretch, so they are hard to put on and slip down, but I could live with that.
