Read More I have had my MSR XGK EX stove for over five years and, aside from clogged fuel filters have never had a problem with it. It just came back from its second trip to Nepal; a total of roughly 80 trekking/camping days where it was expected to preform flawlessly on a diet of old and dirty kerosene; asked to operate at full output for ridiculous periods of time while cooking five liters of rice every night; lived above 15,000 feet for long periods, and was subjected to endless durability testing by our porters day-after-day, week-after-week. The XGK endured all of this without a single issue (well, do take spare fuel filters if you plan to trek in Nepal) and will be returning to Nepal with us this fall. By the way, I particularly like XGK's wide stable stance and, willingness to support a far larger pot than one should reasonably expect, as well as its no nonsense high heat output.

Read More For me, this stove has been fast and trouble-free. If ever the jets start to clog, it can be shaken to fix. It burns almost anything and I have used it with an old, old can of fuel with out a problem. It heats fast, and although I wouldn't recommend it to simmer, it is a great backpacking stove.

Read More I recently took ownership of one of MSR's Marine and Military XGK stoves intended for active duty personnel. I am not sure exactly what nuances and differences there are on materials vs the original, although I know it has 2 jets intended for use on different fuel types. I can say, though, that this stove is absolutely bomb proof. It's well designed, simple, robust, and the quality is definitely there on the manufacture and build. I e used other stoves and gadgetS, but keep coming back tho MSR for their superb design and practical application of small fathered that really make a good bit of difference. I'd reccomend the XGK EX series of stoves to anyone who needs or wants something that will last and pull through when needed. Thanks guys! Pumped to try the new water filter next! Hehe "pumped" about the water filters. Oh yes!

Read More I really like the stove, but it is very loud and difficult to regulate the flame. Other than that, it is very fuel efficiënt, burns on almost anything and works well on altitude. Ideal for melting snow!
