I bought 2 packs - 8 batteries in total inc the charger. I use them for my DSLR camera flash and they don't even hold a charge. The day before a shoot I charge my backup set.. the day of I charge my set to use.. go to use them and my set for the day are almost dead, go to use the backup ones and those ones are completely dead. I made sure they light went green on the charger so I know they are fully charged. Very disappointed. I called the source and I am going in this week they have offered to swap them out! Will be going with a different brand, that's for sure! Have always used the regular batteries and was very happy with them but WOW.. can't believe these rechargeable batteries! Seems a lot of us have had the same issue.

I bought a package of Rechargeable Batteries with the charger on sale at Walmart about 6 months ago. I expected these batteries to to be an upgrade from the non-name-brand alkaline batteries that I had been using. The previous batteries would last about 4-6 months in my mouse or about an hour of continuous shooting in my small digital camera. I bought the rechargeable batteries to replace the alkaline batteries in both devices. I started using them in my mouse and I was severely disappointed. The batteries only last about 1-3 weeks each, and my mouse didn't even have long enough to turn on the battery low light before it suddenly stops working. I did not feel comfortable even trying them in my digital camera. After this latest experience, I'm not sure that I will be comfortable purchasing Energizer rechargeable batteries in the future.

I am still using the same batteries I purchased 4 years ago and they are still strong. I don't particularly like paying $3 a piece for these but how can you complain when looking at the long term? BUT make sure to use a quality charger! My wife bought me one of the 8 hour auto chargers from Energizer last year and it just doesn't charge the batteries near long enough. I recommend staying away from it and get the better charger. It also gives false BAD battery indicators frequently. If your batteries aren't lasting very long look at your charger first, not the batteries.

Even this web page does not indicate the mAH ratings for these "RECHARGE" batteries. I purchased 2 packages of 4 and found ( with a magnifying glass) that one set is 1400 mAH and the other is 2300 mAH. This web page does compare whatever battery it is trying to brag about here with a 2450 mAH which, as far as I can gather, may have been another size of "RECHARGE". Your specifications on this page are also not specifications other than the standard AA physical size.

i used to buy batteries from the dollar store all the time, man did i havve to buy them alot, never thinking that it was a waste until i bought my daughter a digital camera. i put the cheap batteries in there and she took one picture, so i called the company and said whats wrong with this camera, they told me, the cheap batteries. i went to the store and got a set of AA batteries with the charger, and im telling you what a difference, she can take hundreds of pictures with one charge. i bought this set of rechargables about a year ago and they are still going strong, i love them

I agree with these other reviews. 2,500mAh of rechargeable capacity sure sounds awesome, so I bought a bunch of these along with a top-of-the-line smart charger for use in a GPS, a SteriPen, a digital camera, and assorted other gadgets. The first few outings were awesome -- I was able to keep my GPS powered on all day long for upwards of a week carrying a set of eight. But that was two years ago. Now? I'm lucky if they hold a decent charge for 2-3 days. And in something high-drain like the SteriPen, they're really, really hit-and-miss. Sure, I always bring tablets as a back-up, but having to use them on every outing is getting old -- sometimes, even just a day or two after taking them out of the charger, a set of these can't get through a full SteriPen cycle. My smart charger tells me how much power it fed into each battery, and only a few from my original fleet still get close to their 2,500mAh rating. Mine are all 4-5 years old now, so maybe they are beyond their usable cycle and need to be replaced. Maybe they weren't stored properly, or perhaps the technology has been improved since then. But all things considered, these haven't saved me many disposables -- I take Lithiums now to power the SteriPien -- and I'm very, very hesitant to invest in more. Nice try Energizer, but it appears that NiMH technology is only really beneficial to those who constantly go through a massive number of batteries. For us more casual users, these appear to only last a season or two.

After spending over $100 on an Energizer Charger, batteries and back-up batteries for my new dSLR camera a little over 12 months ago I find that they no longer keep the camera operational for nearly as long as they used to. I am aware of things such as self discharge rates, usage pattens that that affect battery performance over time however I do not use the camera every day and although I use an Energizer 'dumb' charger I do not over charge the batteries. I am now considering the Sony Eneloop batteries as these have been recommended to me by both professional photographers and amateur snappers like my self. So initially, in the short term the Energizer rechargeable batteries appear to be ok but long term they appear to be a poor investment considering other brands, in the same price range, last for years.
