Read More I love these tracks! I have one set on the roof of my crew-cab pick-up and another on the fiberglass shell. I of course installed the Thule "Tracker Kit", towers and crossbars. With this set-up I can move the bars over a very wide spacing so I can carry an 18' canoe, 9' kayak, 16' framing lumber or 4' x8' plywood. I have actually carried two long canoes with a kayak on top. On the shell I used the track with the through bolts and on the truck I used the set with the flare nuts. The flare nuts were a little tricky/slash nerve wracking when drilling through the steel roof. No leaks yet! I say go for it!
Read More want a rack on your topper? This is it! One HIGHLY recommended change. Throw out the bolts and screw rivets that come with this kit. Instead you should through bolt these rails with stainless steel button head bolts and nylon lock nuts. You will find that the hardware within the installation kit is of quality material, but has a less then quality ability to hold down the rails. I put two or three in when I decided to just through bolt these rails on, because they seemed inferior. For a year It held great. Recently, the Screw rivets started pulling out, so I replaced the few with through bolds. BOMBER!! Good Luck!
