All-around upgrade from the last Handlebar Bag REI made. I liked the previous Handlebar Bag a lot, but this one is just even better. Internal storage is a bit larger than the last which is nice. The material is water-resistant so my sticks of gum doesn't get moist anymore. The sling got a nice upgrade from a plastic strap restraint to an elastic restraint. I hope the elasticity does not wear out quickly. Overall wonderful
I would give this bag 5 stars but it doesn’t fit my steering. It is too short to be closed and doesn’t make sense to me.
It works great with my light touring set up and for urban adventures, specifically for valuables.
This little bag is excellently made - it feels very sturdy and is just the right size to hold a phone and a wallet together. It's very nice that the straps tuck in and out of the way when you don't need them. The only issue I have is that the straps to connect it to the bike are SO SHORT. They barely, and I mean *barely*, fit around the handlebars+cables+bar tape of my partner's Co-op bike, which feels strange with them both being Co-op products. If the straps on this bag were even just an inch or so longer, it'd be a 5/5 for me.
This bag is just the right size for a half day on the bike with a few well spaced convenience store stops to resupply. The only downside I can come up with is the mounting straps are somewhat too narrow for the handlebar setup I have on my Jamis.
From feedback to field testing, all of our gear is dialed-in by REI Co-op members. Their adventures informed every stitch and detail—making for better, longer-lasting gear.
