For someone who has rheumatoid arthritis and prior to this has osteoarthritis in my knee I would confidently say these are the most comfy shoes I've ever walked in. The Cascadia 19 is a great cross between a trail shoe and a jogger, sturdy, light and super comfortable. The rum and raisin colour scheme makes them great to wear with anything without looking too sporty. All up I would highly recommend the Brooks Cascadia 19 to anyone for walking or jogging off track or in the city streets.
I am a long term customer of Brooks having purchased many pairs of Glycerin and Adrenaline shoes. A few months ago I developed Plantar Fasciitis. I have orthotics and during my recent appointment my specialist recommended I try trail shoes. He said they are more supportive than my current Brooks and may help. He was right. Some reviewers commented they are heavier than Glycerin. I think that’s true but for me the difference is barely noticeable vs the added comfort. They are more experience than other models but the trims are a little nicer and they do feel more rigid. So you are getting more despite paying more.
I bought this shoes for walking. In terms of performance, it ticks all the boxes. What really confound me, is the aesthetics. Really lovely colourways- the blue one, but what I did not like are the string like hooks Brooks put in place at the back of the shoes. Not too sure how strong it will hold up if you yank it hard enough- will it break? There's four string loops in this pair somehow cheapen the aesthetics. Why ruin a really nice pair of shoes????
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hard to argue with Brooks trail shoes lately, and the Cascadia 19 - while perhaps not revolutionary - is more than good enough to keep propagating that legacy. While the Cascadia 19 is a bit more rugged than I “need,” they handle any trail I run on expertly. Road performance is good, if a little… odd. They’re not quite a road-to-trail shoe (nor are they marked to be one). For rocky and technical trails including in some pretty nasty state and regional parts, these worked extremely well. I even ran a workout (fartlek-type session) over some really steep terrain and the midsole excelled.
These shoes are very comfortable with just the right amount of cushioning. They have an even roomier toe box than the Ghost Trail which I also own. They absorb impact very well and are quite stable.
I’ve had a pair of Brooks Cascadia trail runners for a few years and have been wearing them daily in recent months. I like them fine for my daily hikes, but they won’t last forever; so I thought I would get another pair, which is the pair I’m now reviewing. I like them, too, but they bear no resemblance to my previous pair of Brooks Cascadias. The look and feel is completely different. So why would they put out a shoe with the same name as a shoe they sold a few years back when they are completely different shoes, or am I just stupid? Old man yells at cloud. The new ones have plenty of room and are very comfortable.
If you’re anything like me you spend entirely too much time reading reviews on products before you buy them. With that being said the Brooks Cascadia 19 is now my go to trail shoe. The fit is true to size. I get great ‘lockdown’ out of the shoe while still feeling like I have good room in the toe box. The foam has a good balance of responsiveness and cushioning. This shoe feels like it is built to last I expect to get at least 300 miles out of it. The outsole and tread on the shoe is great. It does well on every type of terrain I have put it through so far. Great job to Brooks for setting the bar for what trail running shoes should be!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the way this running shoe feels. It has bounce and is so supportive. My feet feel great from the moment they go on, and continue to feel great throughout. The fabric is a very breathable mesh, which keeps my feet feeling well ventilated, but is poor for running in the rain (or even a slight drizzle). I will saw that my one knock on it is the color scheme is not very appealing. I actually have an expensive performance shirt that was a gift and a really great athletic shirt but the color is a little revolting, and these shoes match it PERFECTLY (the color scheme looks worse in person than in pictures). So you may struggle to fit this style into your wardrobe, but if you can (or you don’t care about the color scheme) your feet will really thank you!
For many of its iterations, the Cascadia trail runner was a perfect fit for me in a 14 2E Wide. It was the old reliable I could always count on. The quality of the shoe lives on, but the toe bed has been severely narrowed to the point my large toe will cramp after only a few minutes of wear around the house. Tried this several times -- different times of day, various sock cushions, etc. I am so disappointed, because they have always been a reliable fit and functioned very well for mixed terrain multi season trail/gravel road running. I will probably give the 20 a try to see if Brooks rehabs the fit to its original specs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Another great shoe! I’m relatively new to trail running so these are my first pair of true trail shoes. I’ve been running on the pavement for over twenty years and my go to shoe is always the Adrenaline or Glycerin. I will admit I have tried other brands over the years, but I always come back to Brooks. They are the most durable, comfortable and usually have some decent colors. Cascadia 19: That being said I love the stability and traction that I get from the wider base and aggressive tread. As far as the durability I’ve put almost 100 miles on them they’re almost more comfortable than when I first got them. However, and this is probably my only complaint on my left shoe on the sole that comes over the toe it appears as if the rubber is separating. I would hope that it wouldn’t get worse as I plan on putting a couple hundred more miles on this pair.
