I REALLY wanted to like this. Mounting seems easy and quick, it feels like great quality, and I even contacted customer service for any tips and tricks. But in the end, Getting the QR clips adjusted to a place that would latch was a challenge, and when I did, the bag itself had minimal clearance to my tire and with weight in it (a jacket and a cable lock) it would bounce over bumps and hit my tire. (no, my seat is not all the way down...i have a 100mm dropper post in the up position). I have other Ortlieb seat backs (smaller click in ones) and I have to remove that mount to put this on, and finally...this has a seat post mount that is mounted permanently...in my case limiting the use of the dropper if I ever wanted to on this bike. Ultimately, I am returning and going to try the non QR 16L pack from Ortieb.
There's adjustments that can be made that will make the pack more angled to fit the needs of your tire to seat clearance. I think it said somewhere you need 7 inches of clearance from the saddle rails to the top of the tire for the pack to fit well. I absolutely love this pack that fits my camp shoes, microfiber towel, rain jacket and u-lock.
This product is missing the black plate with straps displayed on the product page. Without this the bag is structurally unstable and prone to collapse towards the tire. What's the big idea?
