Just A Kuhl Belt

Everything I was looking for I found in this belt. The TSA friendly buckle, color choices, 1-1/2” width and the stretch fit are all good features. It would have earned five stars except the size choices. Originally, I ordered the L/XL which was too large for my 36” waist and left an 8” loose end that was unacceptable. Returned it and ordered the S/M size. It fits ok but now the loose end is 2” or less and that doesn’t leave a lot of room for adjustment. Kuhl could have offered more size options rather than the “two sizes accommodates all” approach.

elastic - sizing off

It is a great belt - however, the material has some elasticity to it and only two sizes. Which, I found, means if you are in the "transition" range 34", 36" size, it does not work. The L/XL leaves you with a ton of belt end material flopping around your waist. If you try the S/M, it is too small.

Size quandry

Once the belt is on, I found it extremely comfortable than regular belts. It gives very well when I bend over. So far, I adjust it far less than I would with traditional belts where I would seem to constantly fuss with tightening or loosening. I have a 36" waist and after some head scratching got the Larger option and ended up with a loose tail over 7" wagging like a cod piece since the next nearest belt loop to secure it was just out of reach. I think the smaller version would leave a too short nub as a tail. So....I may just cut the tail to a reasonable length and burn off the end.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do

Yes, it's a bit long and a bit wide, but it's the most comfortable and secure belt I've ever worn when I'm moving my body in many different ways. If you're looking for a fashion belt to wear to the movies look elsewhere.

Belt fine with 1 big miss.

Belt purchased for 36” waist from Kuhl customer service. The belt itself seems as advertised BUT the excess belt they extends past the buckle just hangs there. Makes me look and feel like a 6th grade dork! It works fine and is comfortable but the lack of a simple loop to contain the excess belt material is a big strike against this item. Sorry. It would have been so easy to get this right. Too bad. Funny thing is that even the loops on their safari pants isn’t positioned to handle the extra belt material. Oh well , not so Kuhl.

Great Design and Fit

Narrow belts like to move in the loops a bit because they’re not wide enough to spread their grip. And belts with no stretch seem to need to be pulled pretty tight to do their belting job, which means they don’t really move with me. I’ve had a couple of stretchy narrow belts over the years and they moved around in the loops and were too stretchy to hold my pants up, and then were just stretched out. The S/M Resistor leaves about 4” that easily ticks into the nearest loop, spreads the tension and isn’t too stretchy out of the box. Time will tell if it stays the proper amount of stretchy but so far like it enough to have just ordered a second one it the other color.

Sizing misses the mark

Build quality seems solid, and the amount of stretch is nice. However, if you have a ~34 inch waist, you're in this belt's purgatory. The S/M leaves you with about an inch of extra belt tail, which looks ridiculous. If you size up to the L/XL, it wraps an extra ⅓ away around your body, and also looks bad. Based on the way this is constructed, there is no easy way to trim the end and adjust the overall length. It's a shame, because I really wanted to like this belt. I'm a big fan of Kuhl's prouducts, but this one does not hit the mark. They either need to offer it in 3-4 sizes, or redesign so that there is an easier way to adjust the length for a more custom fit.

Ridiculously expensive!

Great belt, but a ridiculous price for a stip of stetchy nylon and plastic clasp! I cannot rationalize spending the money...

expensive but gets it right

Good design. It doesn't slip (much if at all) during wear but can be adjusted easily, 1-handed once you're used to it. The very light material doesn't weigh me down, and even better it's flexible so it's not cutting into any muffin-top when you sit or bend. Pricey for nylon + plastic, but this is the first "adjustable strap" style belt I've tried that gets it right. I've even taken to wearing it as my jeans belt, not just my outdoorsy belt. Recommended.

the belt is good. But i needs a loop to hold the belt after the clip. It did not work well even with KUHL pants.
