I LOVE THIS BAG!
I just got back from a 3 week east coast trip where I used this bag for the first time. I packed play clothes, dress clothes and two pairs of shoes and had no trouble fitting everything in. One of the best features of the bag is how light it is!! Even when it was full, it was extremely lightweight. Zippers work well, wheels are easy to use even over rough pavement. I'm taking it to Europe next week for a month and can't wait to see how it does! (I bought it because many of the US airlines are reducing their carry on size to match up with European airlines and this is definitely within the guidelines for all the major airlines I'll by flying on this upcoming trip.)

Awesome but too big
This bag is amazing! I’m headed on an international flight through Norwegian. The dimensions are 55x40x23. According to this site and the osprey site this bag is perfect. Sadly with the bar on the bottom the bag was closer to 57 in length and therefore I had to return it. You might be able to pull off 56 for domestic but they made this bag just a hair too big. I guess I’ll get the global bag. I was excited about the extra 4 liters.

Lightweight and very tough!

I bought this bag for a 2-week trip to Japan. Let me tell you, this is the best purchase I've made in years. I dragged this thing through planes, trains, buses, and automobiles. It's got enough space for two weeks on the road and is very maneuverable. Granted, it's a two-wheel roller so it will get in the way a bit (only in crowded train terminals) but the pivot on the front is an easy way to rotate the bag when you need to change direction. The wheels are higher off the ground, so, mud puddles rarely have a chance to get the bag wet. I will be buying two more of these bags for the rest of the family. Great design and very light weight.

Tough and holds a lot

I just traveled through France for 3 weeks with this bag...well done Osprey. 4 Flights and it fit in the overhead bin; super light weight even when full; wheels are rugged and smooth, rolls like a dream; doesn't fall over due to stability bar; very easy to lift with the various handles; holds a lot more then I thought, zippers are tough to accommodate the load; my only complaint is that the handle slides INTO the bag making it a bit difficult to organize my packing cubes...I bought rectangle shaped cubes to fit in the space at the bottom of the bag and it seems too work pretty good, prevents any space from being wasted. I love the hidden strap on the top of the bag, it's perfect for holding a jacket. The price is a bit steep so wait for the sale.

Osprey Ozone on the road

One day out from under the Christmas tree the Osprey Ozone was on the road for a short week of travel. Loved the lightweight, it fit on the overhead airline compartments and a joy to haul through airports, Denver, San Francisco, San Antonio and home. A week worth of clothes and toiletries plus tablet, recharging cables and meds.

perfect carryon

I loooove this bag! The best thing about this carryon is how lightweight it is ~ makes it so easy to heft up in overhead compartments. I can fit all that I need, and it has just the right amount of pockets. There is a great little easy-access pocket by the handle to put essentials that I need to grab quickly such as passport, wallet, phone, etc. It also looks nice and sleek.

Excellent lightweight roller with some caveats

I really wanted to like this roller. I had older model that no longer fit the carry-on size requirements and purchased this to replace it. The stated dimensions do not really align with the dimensions once the bag is packed. Because of the way the internal load cinching is designed, coupled with the bags lack of sidewall structure, the bag sides pooch out well beyond the dimensions allowed on european carriers. This was learned the hard way on our multi leg euro vacation. It even made the bag a real pain to roll down the aisle. Also missing on this bag over our older bag were the interior mesh organizing pockets. There are town pockets on the back side of the lid, but none of the nice smaller ones on the older bags. Another issue was the collapsing handle. There is no middle height for the handle, which is nice to have while inching forward in long lines. It's either all the way up, or all the way down and the T style design is uncomfortable. For domestic stripped down travel would bag would be great. For longer international trips involving several carriers and where certain refinements are appreciated this bag comes up short. It's greatest feature is it's incredible light weight, and quiet durable wheels. Construction was first rate and after real use it's none the worse for wear. Still, I will have to find another carry on roller for overseas journeys.

A downgrade from older models

The interior side pockets of the older models are gone and the opening orientation has changed so that the hinge is one the side rather than the bottom which means opening the main compartment while it’s upright involves guesswork. The pockets on the flap top are poorly designed and the back pocket zip is hard to reach because of an annoying and unnecessary flap covering the zipper. Also gone are some of the outside compartments on the flap. Osprey ruined a great bag.

The Osprey Ozone 42L is Nearly Perfect

This travel bag is nearly perfect. It fit in all but the smallest overhead bins on airplanes. The large wheels prevented it from fitting in one plane but it still gets an excellent ratting because the wheels roll over everything, including cobbles and curbs without tipping the bag over. I would have preferred a swivel handle but I put a short leash on it that solved that issue. I really liked the internal compression straps. When cinched down there was plenty of room to stash my sandals. The accessory strap allowed me to carry a friend's bag when needed. And the two external pockets were very handy. The "liquids" pocket was super handy to store my liquids bag in for quick access when going through security, the large front pocket for accessing my jacket, and the rear pocket for holding all my papers without them getting bent or crumpled. An excellent bag overall. I'm very pleased that I purchased this.

Great lightweight carry-on

Lightweight, rolls well, and stays upright. Sturdy material and substantial handles for lifting. Used by 9 year old and he maneuvered it easily through a busy airport. We used packing cubes and easily fit everything in for a 9 day trip for one person. The blue is a nice color. I do wish the back pocket was padded for better iPad protection. The top zippered pocket is nice for snacks or liquids. This is now my favorite carry-on, out of several to choose from at our house.
