Sizing notes

TALL: Some shirts, pants and jackets are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer and sleeves that are 2 inches longer than regular sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants After taking the fit test, they told me I needed XL. They were too big everywhere, so exchanged for a large. They fit perfect. Defensively waterproof, as I used them when I was hiking a glacier in Iceland. They kept me nice and warm as well. Im relatively new to north face products for hiking, and I have not been disappointed. I've used their products to hike the Incan trail, glaciers, and casual day hikes. Their products have worked wonderfully for me and I would absolutely recommend. The most important note about these pants is they really block them wind. I was getting hit with 40 mph winds and didn't feel anything through my clothes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants for skiing I used these for a 7 days ski trip in 20-40 degree weather and never felt cold. We were in rain, snow and freezing rain conditions and never got wet either. I used a fleece pant under the insulated Freedom pants as I am very cold-natured and was fine. I am 6'3 and 194 lbs with a 34-36" waist so used the "long" inseam with a great fit. I used the adjusters on the waist to tighten it up and did not use a belt. My wife immediately bought herself a pair after seeing how well they worked. The snaps and velcro work well to hold them shut and I did not need to use the pockets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome! Ordered these for my boyfriend for our ski trip. We love the North face so we wanted to have a completely north face ski outfit. My only complaint is the size. When using the size chart it said he was on the large end of the medium and the minimum end of the large. When we got those they were super snug so we sent them back to get a large, but the large was slightly big. The good thing though is that they have a semi-adjustable waist (with the velcro) so I think they will work. The best part about the pants is the insulation and ventilation. The insulation will surely keep him warm but if he gets to hot he can unzip the gaiter vents to cool him down! Overall awesome pant!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fit Review for Medium/Short inseam I am reviewing the freedom insulated pants for the purpose of giving my height and weight so that it might help someone else. I am 5'9" and weigh 185 lbs. I have an athletic build, generally wear size medium shirts and jackets, and have a 32"-34" waist. My suit pants are a 34" waist by 29" inseam, and my jeans are a 32" waist by a 30" inseam. I purchased the Freedom Men's Insulated snow pant in size Medium, with the short inseam. They are comfortable with an expedition weight base layer. I am in my mid thirties and appreciate that the fit of these pants is not baggy or relaxed. It is hard to find decent snow pants with a short inseam and these fit the bill nicely in that area. Typical North Face quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants! I bought these pants for my teenage sons. Based on the size chart, I ordered the Medium long (Levi's jeans size 30W34L and 32W34L, height 6'0" and 6'3" respectively) but they were way too long for both boys so had to re-order and the Medium Regular was the right length. There's a velcro tab on both sides at the waist to tighten the fit which is a great feature. These pants allow for easy movement, they are not bulky at all. Hoping the boys will get many years of wear out of these pants as they are kind of pricy. Good quality overall. Would buy them again.
