Appalachian Trail Series: Injury Prevention for Thru Hikers

Injury probably ruins more long distance or thru-hiking aspirations than any other single factor. Learn how to integrate stretching and mobility techniques into your thru hike to decrease your risk of injury! This interactive 90 minute workshop will teach you simple exercises and common tools that can be used on the trail to help prevent injury and relieve aches and pains. REI's professional yoga instructor works alongside an Olympic triathlon coach to guide you through a whole body approach to mobility and introduce a handful of yoga postures that will keep you feeling good on the trail. Please come dressed in comfortable style clothing that will allow you to move through different postures, and bring a Nalgene style water bottle as a prop for this class. Yoga mats are available upon request.
