The Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) system is a 200-mile iconic recreational trail that traverses the rim of the Lake Tahoe Basin. The TRT is open to hiking, equestrians, and mountain biking (in most areas) and crosses six counties, four National Forests, three wilderness areas, two states, and one state park. This Trail Talk will provide an overview of the TRT system, what to know before you go, and information for sustainable trail use.
