Slow Show - Call for Participants!

Slow Show by dancer/choreographer Dimitri Chamblas is an intensive and agitated dance whose visible repercussions are minute, precise, and concentrated. Seeking 50 volunteer participants (ages 12 to 80) who engage in a consistent physical activity (martial arts, soccer, skateboarding, yoga, dancing, cross-country skiing, theater, etc.) to perform in the Minneapolis presentation of Slow Show as part of The Great Northern 2022. Professional-level performance experience is not required, though please be aware that this performance is based on the slowness of movement and requires a certain degree of concentration and balance. The performance will take place on the frozen Como Lake at 1pm and 2pm on Feb. 5. Please be prepared to perform in that environment. An indoor space will be provided to stay warm in between performances and keep your personal items safe. Dimitri is interested in different shapes and silhouettes--layered looks are encouraged! Rehearsals: Feb 1-Feb 3, 5-9pm at The Cowles Center - Feb 4, 3pm-7pm, and Feb. 5, 10am-3pm, at Como Park Pavilion. Complete the registration form by Dec 22. They will be in touch by Jan 10 at the latest to confirm participation.
