Beloved by locals and admired by adventurers nationwide, the Appalachian Trail offers pristine wilderness, invigorating hiking and breathtaking viewpoints. On this 5.5-mile hike along the Appalachian Trail near Asheville, we'll explore mossy forests and Rhododendron tunnels while keeping an eye out for the critters that call this area home. At our halfway point, we'll take in spectacular 360-degree mountain views from the deck of an historic fire tower. Along the way, we'll share some hiking tips and offer insight into the trail's storied history and ecosystem. This hike is perfect for those with moderate hiking experience, as you'll need to feel comfortable walking on rugged terrain for about 5.5 miles. We love this hike and are pretty sure you will too!
