Celebrate Ridge Trail Month with the Bay Area Ridge Trail
Each year, the Bay Area Ridge Trail works with their partners to host trail projects all around the Bay Area. It's a great opportunity for volunteers to get outside and care for their favorite trails! This year, the Ridge Trail is hosting a social-distance-friendly version of the event by providing a "DIY" trail project option. A "DIY" Ridge Trail project is a fun and easy way to celebrate Ridge Trail Month solo or within your social bubble. More people than ever have been enjoying the Ridge Trail recently, so the trails could use a little extra love! Here's how you can host your own "DIY" Ridge Trail project: STEP 1: Pick a Ridge Trail segment. STEP 2: Make a plan to properly dispose of trash and recycling. STEP 3: Gather your supplies. A supply list can be found at ridgetrail.org/RT-Month (link below). STEP 4: If you have friends or family members within your social bubble, get them involved! STEP 5: During your clean-up, wear gloves and a mask; and stay at least 6 feet away from other trail users. STEP 6: Take some pics! Show us your before and after. Tag @bayarearidgetrail and @REI in your photos on social media and include #RidgeTrailMonth for a chance to win awesome prizes!
