Rainier National Park offers pristine wilderness, invigorating hiking, and iconic views of the Cascade Mountains. We'll begin our hike at the Paradise Visitor's Center and travel through alpine meadows filled with wildflowers, keeping an eye out for marmots, gray jays and other critters that call this area home. We'll climb as high as 8,000 feet, past Pebble Creek and onto the Muir Snowfield where we'll have a close-up view of the highest peak in Washington to the north, and if it's clear, a sweeping view of the Tatoosh Range, Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens to the south. Along the way, we'll share some hiking tips and offer insight into the region's unique ecosystem. This hike is perfect for people with some hiking experience as you'll need to feel comfortable walking up and down steep terrain for about 7 miles at elevations above 5,000 feet. Depending on time of year, much of your day will be spent on the permanent snowfield! The best part about this hike? We do all the planning and packing - you just have to show up! Grab your day pack, lace up your boots, and join us!
