Family Introduction to Outdoor Rock Climbing

The family that climbs together thrives together, and this hands-on course will have your whole crew conquering crags in no time. With instructors who are experts at teaching climbing to kids, we make sure your time on the rock is as fun and as safe as it can be. We'll learn proper belay technique, using ropes to support and protect one another as we climb. Together, we'll practice tying the most essential knots in climbing, and try out a variety of outdoor rock climbing techniques. We'll bring all the climbing equipment and safety gear--you just have to show up and climb. By the end of this course, every adult/child pair will have the confidence to start belaying and climbing safely, fully prepared to tackle their next outdoor adventure together.

  • Learn the basics of rock climbing including the appropriate use of knots and how to belay
  • Practice climbing on real, outdoor rocks
  • This experience is best suited for pairs of one adult and one child for safety reasons
