Castlewood Canyon Explorers Day Hike
$79 for REI Members
$99 for non-members
- Minimum age 12
- Group size 8 people
One of our favorite local spots, Castlewood Canyon offers diverse Colorado wilderness, spirited hiking and lots of local history. On this mellow hike along Cherry Creek, we'll explore the unique ecological zones while keeping an eye out for the critters that call this area home. We'll end up at the historic Castlewood Canyon Dam - remnants of the dam that broke open after heavy rainfall and flooded Denver in 1933. Along the way, we'll share some hiking tips and offer insight into the region's history and ecosystem. This hike is perfect for anyone - no hiking experience required - though you'll need to feel comfortable walking on uneven terrain for about 5 miles. We love this hike, and are pretty sure you will too!
- Learn the history and natural wonders of one of Colorado's unique destinations
