A practice thousands of years old, Yoga is well-documented to have an overall positive effect on mind and body health, including increased flexibility, better posture and lower stress levels. Join REI for a one-hour exploration into the basics of Hatha yoga, including physical postures and attention to breath. We will focus on the basic poses with lots of alignment cues, modifications and adjustments available to help make them more accessible. This class will gently build strength, flexibility and awareness, and help attendees be more comfortable with going to a yoga studio or starting a home practice. Appropriate for all levels, including newcomers. Bring a mat and a light blanket/towel. (Some extras will be available.) Instructor Erin Tunze is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance and has been teaching for the last year at Floor Polish Dance + Fitness.
