NEMBA Rockland Preserve Stewardship

Working with Communities of Mountain Bikers All Levels The 649-acre Rockland Preserve in Madison, Connecticut is a model for shared use of open space. Thanks to the efforts of the local mountain biking community, an area once threatened by development and misuse, is now home to 20 miles of trails over two properties that have transformed the use of the Preserve. As the stewards of Rockland, the mountain bikers have successfully managed the land and brought in a new generation of welcome visitors who have taken leadership in maintaining Rockland's natural beauty.
