As Global warming continues to change the climate of this planet, it has even effected outdoor recreation. This proves especially true in the northern latitudes. Here in Alaska it has profoundly begun to blur the distinction between seasons. While summer seemed very summer-like it proved a very Un-Alaskan summer with many days around 80 degrees and many wildfires--making it seem more like California than Alaska. Then snows came very late, and even after the first snow in late November it rained for a number of days in December. Yet despite this very Un-Alaskan weather, we can still generally rely on the seasons still playing a somewhat consistent determining role on how we recreate in the outdoors. This informal talk and slideshow will outline various choices available in various seasons that involve the least risk but also the biggest rewards. Moving chronologically through the calendar-year from winter, to spring, to summer, to autumn, and then back to winter, Shawn will attempt to outline the many options available in the many seas
