Introduction to Backcountry Ski & Splitboard Touring Class: White Mountains

Join REI to learn the fundamentals of backcountry touring in this hands-on Experience. Both skiers and snowboarders are welcome! We'll focus on building the skills and exploring the equipment necessary to begin your touring journey. We'll cover the different components and options for a backcountry set-up and then head to the slopes of a local ski resort to develop the skills required to put it to use. Our experienced instructors will cover uphill travel, efficiency techniques, transitions between uphill and downhill mode, and more. REI will provide all the necessary touring equipment for this great first-time experience. Prior experience skiing and/or riding at the blue square level or higher is required.
