Join the San Diego River Park Foundation for a guided hike through Eagle Peak Ranch, a 414 acre open space preserve! Hikers will explore the South Rim Trail. This 5.2 mile hike travels through chaparral habitats. Come enjoy a beautiful day in nature and see for yourself why the San Diego River is worth preserving! South Rim Trail: Distance (Roundtrip): 5.2, Elevation Change: 490 ft., Difficulty: Moderate-Difficult How to Prepare: Bring at least 2 liters of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes and sun protection to keep yourself comfortable, pack a sack lunch or snack, and poison oak is present, so long pants are recommended! Please Note: Dogs are not allowed, this hike is not kid-friendly. Location: Eagle Peak Ranch is about 1.5 hours by car from central San Diego near the town of Julian.
