Overview

  • Group size 35 people
  • Instructor Lou MacMillan

Join Olympia photographer Lou MacMillan on an expedition from southern Argentina to Antarctica to photograph mountains, glaciers and unique wildlife - seals, whales, seabirds and penguins. Sailing on a chartered ship from Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world, a group of over 80 international photographers and naturalists landed on the South Shetland Islands and the Danco Coast of Antarctica to document the incredible landscape and capture wildlife in the natural environment. With words and photographs, Lou will take you to the edge of the earth, and share tips for traveling to and photographing this pristine but harsh landscape. In addition to a 25-minute slideshow, Lou's book of photographs, Wilderness of Ice, will be available for signing and purchase.
