Overview

  • Group size 20 people
  • Instructor Ranger Emma

Ranger Emma, wildlife biologist at Lava Beds National Monument, will discuss the 15 species of bat that call the monument's many caves home. Come get all your batty questions answered as we bust bat myths and learn what makes these special mammals so unique, what threats they face, and what you can do to help. Have you ever wondered what bats look like up close? Now's your chance to get hands-on with several preserved specimens that will be on display. Bat-themed snacks will also be provided.
