The St Johns River-to-Sea Loop is an emerging 260-mile paved multiuse trail connecting Titusville, DeBary, Palatka, St Augustine, and back to Titusville. It's nearly 50% complete and many sections can be enjoyed now. This presentation explores sections easily accessible from Orlando in Volusia and Brevard. In Volusia County the Loop connects 130 miles of hidden gems, providing trail access to scenic springs, playgrounds and parks. Dr. Schrager teaches courses in human anatomy/physiology, exercise physiology, the physiology of aging, and biomechanics and will discuss the direct physical, mental, and wellness-based benefits of cycling and accessible multiuse trails you, your family and your community. He will present aspirational examples of trail networks worldwide that have had impacts health in other cities/regions, as well as local maps to highlight completed sections of the Loop to help you plan a memorable adventure featuring activities and sights easily accessible from Orlando. Cyclists, runners, hikers, walkers, and rollerbladers of every age and ability can enjoy the Loop. Discover this hidden gem that's in your own backyard.
