Overview

  • Group size 38 people
  • Instructor Marlin "Diva" Sill

Marlin "Diva" Sill worked in Outdoor Education in Western NC for 10 years before deciding to go full-time dirtbag. Come hear about the experience of thru-hiking from someone who never considered themselves a hiker. We will talk gear, planning, highlights, and overcoming the unexpected. In a year when the the Sierra required over a month of hiking in record-high snowpack and fording flooded rivers, this year's trek was so much more than just a walk in the woods. As a gay man, a working professional in the field of Outdoor Ed, and the named and famed "Diva", expect this to be as much a practical information session as it is a time to sit down and spill the tea of what thru-hiking really means. Bring your questions, your fears, your excitement, and even your gear if you want a mini shakedown. This is a safe place for anyone, from first-time hikers to experienced backpackers. Come find out how to pack some of the PCT into your life.
