Ben Zavora makes his living in the backcountry. He's an AMGA Certified Ski Guide and the founder and lead guide for Beartooth Powder Guides in Cooke City, Montana. His talk will focus on how to apply the current avalanche forecast to choose the proper terrain for the day, pre-trip planning, and identifying avalanche terrain to select the safest up track and down track routes. His vast experience in backcountry conditions has given him insights into applying field observations to real time decision making and risk management. The Human Factor is always a consideration and will be part of the discussion. The talk will also include a section on the use of modern technology to help manage terrain effectively and reduce the overall risk. Bring your questions for this educational and informative talk!
