This NWAC Avalanche Awareness Workshop target is for skiers, snowboarders and snowmobilers. Whether you ski, snowboard or snowmobile in the backcountry, recognition of avalanche danger is an essential and potentially lifesaving skill. This session introduces and explains where and why avalanches occur and provide a basic approach to managing risk in the back country. Learn to access the Northwest Avalanche Center bulletins and weather reports, recognize basics signs of avalanche danger, and learn simple was to help avoid avalanche danger.
