Walking over 2,000 miles, sleeping on a foam pad in a tent for months, encountering desert, high alpine terrain, rain, hail, and a variety of wildlife: Sounds like an amazing adventure to you and something you would like to try? Then join this event! Caroline "Earthcake" Himbert is a long-distance hiker, PhD student, and lover of tacos. She has completed over 3,500 miles of long distance trails including the Pacific Crest Trail, John Muir Trail, and Colorado Trail. This upcoming season, she will attempt to thruhike the Continental Divide Trail starting April 29th. How are you planning a trip like this? How do you successfully thruhike the entire length of a trail? Join Caroline for a talk about resupplies, gear needed, and the mental and physical challenges that thruhikers often encounter.
