Force of Nature Women's Campout: Cumberland Island
- Group size: 18
- Instructor: REI Women Warriors
A woman's place is in the wild and this campout is wild and woman-centric. We will focus on providing an empowering and relaxing environment for female warriors of all experience levels, including guided hikes, yoga, communal meals cooked by the lovely women of REI, and [optional] hands-on workshops on wilderness medicine and general camp skills (i.e. bear bag hanging, camp setup, and camp cooking) where you can practice new skills or get a refresher of old skills. You will also have free time to explore on your own or relax in a hammock under the shade of giant live oaks. REI will provide the campsite, entry free, round-trip ferry tickets, all meals, equipment needed for workshops, and a team of awesome instructors to act as your hosts and guides. Campers are responsible for bringing basic camping gear, personal clothing and toiletries, mess kit, and a flashlight/headlamp. The campsite (Sea Camp) is located 0.5 miles from the ferry dock, so please pack accordingly; carts are available to assist in moving gear to/from the campsite. There are restrooms, potable water, and open-air cold-water showers at Sea Camp. You must be 21+ to consume alcohol. Price listed is per person.
Please note that participants will meet at the Cumberland Island Visitor Center (113 St. Marys St W, St. Marys, GA 31558). Children age 12 and under can register for $199. Please call the Jacksonville store directly (904.996.1613) to register a child 12 years of age or younger.
