Central Florida Community Sailing Program

Learn the fun of sailing! The Central Florida Community Sailing Program provides beginning sailing lessons with a focus on water safety and fun. The program includes three classroom sessions and three on-the-water sessions. Classroom sessions include: sailing textbook, standing and running rigging, wind direction and velocity, sail trim and marlinspike, tacking and jibing, light and heavy air sailing, capsize recovery, man overboard recovery, stopping and beaching, and many other facets of safe sailing. Water sessions include: review of classroom sessions, dry land demonstrations by instructors, water demonstrations by instructors, and students on-the-water with aid of instructors and assistants. Water sessions are held at Baldwin Park on Lake Baldwin in Winter Park. All courses are taught by trained instructors. Fully equipped boats are provided, but please bring your own life jacket. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program. Children must be at least 16 years old and accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration fee is $155.00.
