Weather in the Sierra during summer and fall can often be characterized by "a lot of nice days". We love it! But anyone who's been in the mountains long enough knows we do occasionally get hit with some rough weather. Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Reno will talk about some of these hazards including thunderstorms, lightning, flash flooding, high winds, dense smoke, and of course an unexpected early snowfall. They'll speak to how predictable these hazards are and some things you can do to keep yourself informed and safe. There will also be time for an AMA of sorts - Ask of Meteorologist Anything - so bring your weather questions. Just don't ask them what the snow forecasts looks like for this coming winter and if you should buy a ski pass.
