Ice Age Trail Alliance, Waukesha Co. Parks & REI are teaming up to celebrate trails and make a difference in our community for National Trails Day! Join us to learn about the unique history of the land by spending a few hours caring for nature and enjoying a hike on the Ice Age National Trail - Monches Segment. Sign-in at 8:45am. 9:00am will include welcome and garlic mustard busting (invasive species removal by hand) for one hour. We'll take a break, then enjoy a guided nature hike with Waukesha Co. Conservation Biologist Julia Robson. It will be an out and back hike, so we'll return where we started to enjoy some snacks and refreshments provided by REI. Please bring sunscreen, sturdy shoes (close-toed), water, bug spray and dress for the weather. Please note, there are no bathrooms on site and dogs are not allowed for this event. LOCATION: Just outside the village of Monches. Watch for yellow "Ice Age Trail Event" signs. Off-road parking area is available 0.5 miles E in a DNR parking lot on the N side of County Line Rd. (CTH-Q). Register at:
