Gain a fresh perspective on a beloved local treasure with this 4 mile kayak tour at Nickajack Lake. Resting at the end of the Tennessee River Gorge, Nickajack Lake plays host to idyllic Tennessee landscapes and scenery. The lake also boasts rich human history and the modern ruins of Hales Bar Dam. Ideal for paddlers over the age of 21, we'll finish up our exploration of this local wonder with a glass of wine at Lookout Winery, compliments of REI. Learn all about the surrounding ecosystem, and maybe even catch a glimpse of a river otter or bald eagle. The best thing about this tour? We do all the planning and packing--you just have to show up. We can't wait to paddle with you!

  • Explore the modern ruins of Hales Bar Dam
  • Paddle 4 miles around the islands of Nickajack Lake
  • Enjoy a full wine sampler at Lookout Winery

What to bring with you

The three hours for this trip includes paddle and transportation time. Wine sampling is after the three hours paddling trip and is designed that way to let you enjoy the ambiance of the wine and scenery at your own leisure.
