Nestled in the valley between 10,781-foot Mount Baker and the western ranches of North Cascades National Park, Baker Lake offers sweeping views, tranquil waters, pristine wilderness, making it the ideal location for your first backpacking trip! Our journey leads us through lush old grown forest to a lakeside backcountry campsite right on the lakeshore. Hone your skills during your back-country stay: learn what to bring, how to manage water, what goes into an effective camp set-up, practice Leave No Trace principles, and many other tips to set you up for success so you can plan trips of your own. This course is perfect for beginners and was designed with new backpackers in mind. You should be prepared to hike 2 miles each day with minimal elevation gain over moderate terrain. The best part about this trip? We do all the planning, shuttling, and provide all necessary backpacking gear - you just have to show up! We can't wait to get outside with you!
