Winter camping on the Appalachian Trail is a magical experience. Crisp air, no crowds, and breathtaking vistas make winter backpacking a must for any backcountry adventurer. Join our instructors and fellow adventurous women as we traverse 8 miles round trip along North America's most iconic long distance trail. Enjoy lookouts at Annapolis Rock and Black Rock Cliff during the day, with a warm campfire in the evening. Along the way, you'll learn how to adapt your 3 season backpacking experience to manage the cold and enjoy the beauty that winter travel has to offer. This 2 day course covers: what to bring, cooking and hydration strategies, navigation and camp skills, how to stay warm, and much more. Learn in this inclusive all women environment and meet other women interested in outdoor adventure. Price includes all meals, use of pack, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, stove/cook set, park entry fee, and pre-trip information meeting.
